REGINA MUSIC BOX LAMP. About 12 years ago, music box aficionado (not me) decided to create a lamp in the style that he imagined would compliment a Regina music box. In doing so, he carefully recreated the artwork familiar to Regina owners that appears on the underside of the lids of tabletop music boxes, and at the rear inside panel of automatic changers. The 8.5 diameter globe was decorated by hand-painting each figure. It was then kiln-fired. Unfortunately, this resulted in virtually every one of the globes being destroyed and the maker gave up on his project, with this one exception. The globe is mated to a newer, old-fashioned looking base (37 high) and is quite handsome – we have had it decorating our home in the intervening 12 years. So, you have a chance to own a one-of-a-kind “prototype” piece, a sure conversation starter for your music box friends as well, when you are showing off your collection.
