Rare and unusual antique cylinder music box with 2 dancing dolls, 3 bells and 3 butterflies by B. Abraham of Sainte Croix, Switzerland, 1895. Features include a bells in vue movement, where the music produced by the comb is accented by three silvered bells struck by strikers shaped like butterflies. Two ballerinas twirl, spin & move up and down as the 3 butterflies two pink and one blue chime 3 silvered bells. The dolls are original and create a beautiful spectacle. The music box plays 10 airs listed on the original G5971 tune sheet inside lid. Musical works are protected by a glass-faced lid with pull. Tested and in top working condition. All 33 comb teeth are present. The case has a rosewood finish and a musical instrument motif, a bit faded, on top center. The dancers’ costumes do show wear, though repair could be made by one with fine sewing skills. Bells, butterflies, & ballerinas truly entertain. And the music plays! Lid open: 18.25H.
