CIRCA 1870’s – 1880s ANTQUE 1st Form “AUTOMATIC MEDLODISTA” CRANK PAPER ROLL TYPE MUSIC BOX ORGAN – MFG. This is the first form of the “AUTOMATIC MEDLODISTA” whereby the paper rolls just fed through the platen / roller assembly. The second form had actual large roller spindles added on to the main body to feed and take-up the paper rolls and is more common. Has original crank and roller assembly internally turns nicely and is in good shape. Small chip to inside section of ebony wood crank handle. See one close-up of handle towards bottom of handle. Measures 9 1/2″ x 9″ x 14 in size. Wear, scuffs is consistent with age and use but does display nicely – and in generally very nice shape with gold stenciling still rich and bright. Please see all photos as they are part of the description. Note that top wood section has some wear to the lacquer / shellac finish that can only be seen in raking light. The bottom air flap made of a small piece of wood, easily reproduced, is missing and also needs to have some old leather for the hinge to the flap be replaced. We do not know what condition the internal bellows is in, but it is likely probably okay. As it is all internal and not subject to being touched. Minor section of BATES label to the right is chip off – hardly noticable. Two paper notices on bottom present and in good shape. NO ROLLS CAME WITH THE MACHINE.
