A fantastic Antique early 20th century German mechanical singing bird box “automaton” Attribited to Karl Griesbaum with enamel decoration by Emil Brenk. Underside hallmarked “EB” for Emil Brenk and “Mettall”. Measuring approximately 4.25″ Long x 3″ Wide. Concealed inside the box is a miniature bird, covered with colorful hummingbird feathers. When the lid opens, the bird pops-out to sing a tune while twirling, moving its beak and flapping its wings. When complete, the bird slips back into the box and the lid closes behind it. Verall in excellent condition, working well, light minor surface wear. No major damage or repair. Please see all pictures for details.
