I’m a confirmed lover of Ocean Jasper, also called Orbicular Jasper. This stunning slab comes from the original mine in Madagascar. That mine is now closed, so there will be no more of this variety of ocean jasper. While it is still being mined in another location, the stones from that mine look very different from the original. It was ethically mined. You’ll receive a display stand for this pretty piece. This ocean jasper slab measures 10.9 x 7 x. It weighs 1 lb, 14 ounces. The patterns and colors are so beautiful on this piece. It features greens and creams, along with an abundance of the orbicular pattern. That and the pink/peach coloring make this truly a special piece. Ocean Jasper is not a jasper. It is a form of chalcedony, a variety of quartz. As ocean jasper is mined near the ocean, but not from it directly as many believe, it is wonderful for getting in touch with nature and the Earth.
