RARE bird in gilded cage wind-up rotating ball clock. There is a later version of this (typically marked Occupied Japan) that you will see from time to time that is larger, clunkier and nowhere near as pretty. This beautifully detailed gilded cage is 4.75″ x 3″ and runs. As you can see in the video, the bird’s tail clicks back and forth with the seconds. The pointer stays in a fixed position and the ball rotates to show the time. I have no idea if everything is working properly so please assume it will need to be serviced. It was probably hung from an arching arm originally and had feet added later, but that is just speculation.
