Antique Regina Single Comb Disc Music Box Cherry Case Inside Wind Low Serial Number 1860s Runs & Plays 11.25 Disks Comes w/ 4 Disks. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep it for yourself! We have not come across such a beautiful music box as this in a while. Beautiful single comb Regina 11.25 Disk Music Box here. What makes it even more rare and collectible is the inside wind and the low serial number. The serial number is “25584”. Not sure which model # Regina this is yet as have not been able to find another one like it. The music box came from the long time collection of a party that is unfortunately no longer with us. The top, sides and bottom of the case are in very good condition. No warping, splits or repairs that we can ascertain. Beautiful Cherry Wood or Rosewood Case here. Uncommon in that you are more likely to see oak or mahogany. The lock is in place, no key. The top is attached to the base by the hinges, but the left hinge is not sitting into the area cut out for it, as we think the screws were replaced at some juncture and larger ones used than should have been. The top does not quite sit down flush, but due to this issue, the top is not warped. Look closely at the pics. The wood legs are still in place. The paper label is still inside the lid. The music box dates to the 1880s. The lever that stops/starts and controls the speed of the player operates. The case is in just amazing condition. No cracks, splits or missing pieces. The comb is in very good condition, see close up pic. The teeth are all in place. The nickel plated finish on the comb shows some finish loss. The music box tunes sound great when the music box is played, so sounds like the pins on the disk are all hitting the teeth as expected. The 4 Disks all play on it. Does stop sometimes, not sure if the black rollers on the front and back of the case and the 4 on the rail that holds the disk in place need some lubricating loosening. A little tight in some positions which we think is causing the issue noted. The wind spring feels sound when keyed. Comes with the wind key with wood turn handle. The stop and start selector button works on the music box, as does the replay/change selector. The music box case is 9″ tall, by 14.75″ across, by 13.75 wide.
