Up for your consideration is this vintage (1993) the Enchanted Clocktower – a celebration of storybook rhymes – designed by Gilmore & Lui Designs for Enesco. The piece measures approximately 14″ high and 7.5″ wide. It has 14 characters, colorful illustrations, and signs that represent 18 popular nursery rhymes. It is made of resins and plastics and comes with the adapter. Some of the featured animation scenes are the Old Mother Goose that circles around the clocktower – this piece is the only piece that is separate and has to be placed into the slot on top of the tower. Humpty Dumpty wobbles on the edge of the roof. The focal point is the animated clock face and tiny timekeeper – the timekeeper goes back and forth in front of the clock and my favorite part is the eyes on the clock follow him back and forth – clock is an animation, not a working clock. The tune it plays is “The Syncopated Clock”. There is music, a lot of movement and some light – a small light in the street light and inside the stained glass window on the bottom level – lights are not very bright – it is definitely more of a music and animation piece than it is about lights. These are highly collectible and fairly rare simply because many of them are damaged through the years as there are so many small and delicate parts. This one is in good used condition – it belonged to my mother and was kept inside a glass front cabinet for most of its 33 years – was brought out occasionally to entertain the kids. It seems to have all the parts and I do not see any missing pieces from any of the figures. The only thing I found was one of the small posts that the chain hangs from in front is loose – last one on right – it is not detached but loose. See the attached video to see it in use. It does come in the original box with styrofoam packaging – the box does have wear from age and storage and does have tape along bottom and top. It is a really cute and nostalgic piece. Please unpack carefully so not to damage any pieces and be aware that the adapter and the Mother Goose pieces are taped into nooks in the outside of the styrofoam. 1F – Warehouse Bin Number.
