Lift the lid to reveal a highly-desired, world-class Reuge 3/72 movement. The movement is clean and shiny and it looks great. The mechanism winds up smoothly and the sound quality is EXCELLENT. It switches between the songs precisely and automatically. The music starts and stops by opening and closing the lid. This music box plays Tristesse in 3 parts by Chopin. Critics believe that Tristesse was written to r. Eflect Chopin’s feelings of nostalgia and homesickness for his native Poland. Begins with a beautiful, lyrical melody that grows in complexity and agitation before returning to a somber, emotional conclusion. The box is in terrific condition and it looks STUNNING. It has a very heavy construction and it is structurally perfect. There are a few light scuffs/dings from use. There are light scratches on the internal acrylic pane. Please see all of the pictures for the beauty of this piece! The musical movement is in great shape. It was cleaned, inspected and properly lubricated for years of use. The sound is clear, rich, and melodic – A+ sound quality. There are NO resonance issues (buzzes/squawks) that can occur in vintage boxes. Please see the video to hear this box for yourself!
