Offered for sale is this rare and collectible Koji Murai Sweet Memories Pierrot de Pierre Music Box made in 1998. The roof of the Circus tent lifts up to a star filled sky and the wind up crank Pierrot de Pierre on it and an on and off switch. When you turn on the music box, traditional Circus Carousel Music plays and the carousel turns. There is a clown riding a pig, a circus dog holding a pole and a lady dressed in circus garb move up and down. Other characters on the carousel include a clown playing a saxophone, a dog on a circus drum, a clown with a a French horn and a woman circus performer balancing on a ball. These characters also go around on the carousel, but are stationary. The following quote is inscribed once the top is opened and is signed by Koji Murai It reads, With a music box you can invoke precious memories and bring joy to your heart. On the front of the Music Box is the word CIRCUS. The Music Box measures 4 1/2″ Wide X 6″ Tall. I have never seen this particular box by Koji Murai before and his Carousel style Music Boxes don’t come up for sale very often. The Circus Characters are very detailed and the colors are bright. This was displayed in a cabinet being the wonderful condition it is in for sure. On the bottom of the music box are two stickers. One from Splendid for the finest in Music Boxes New York and The Music House. This is a very fine Music Box made over 24 years ago.
