Vtg Carousel Musical Cigarette / Candy Dispenser Porcelain and Metal Music Box Works. Doors Not Hooked Up to Movement to Operate. Music Box Under Glass Dome w/ Wood Base. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself! The music box dates to the mid-1900s to early 1980s. The Cigar/Candy Caddy Music Box Case is made of porcelain and has metal legs, base, and trim components. There are no maker marks on the music box or the movement. The movement is in place and operates. All the teeth are in place on the comb. The music box holds a wind, and the on/off switch works to make the music box play or stop. The case of the porcelain music box is in very nice condition. Grat colored cupid playing a mandolin on the top of the music box. The music box case is made of porcelain and painted a nice blue color. Then, has gold colored scrolling, and white green and gold colored flowers that are applied to the case. These designs are on the doors as well as the porcelain lower section of the case. The inside of the doors are lined with a gold colored metal and then a red suede within them. One of the inside doors has loss of finish to the gold coloring on top left of the door, see pic. Nice gold coloring to the metal base. Has nice incising on the base and the three legs have the face of a person on them. Not sure what the tune is that the music box plays. The cigar caddy doors are not being operated by the music box movement as should be. See pic of movement. Pieces all there, but the wire or piece that runs between two other shafts is not there to operate doors. The doors work well manually. Comes with a nice glass dome with wood base to keep this beautiful piece protected from the elements. The Cigar / Candy Caddy Music box itself is 10-7/8″ tall, by 6.5″ across, by 6.5 wide. The glass dome on wood base stands 12-5/8″ tall by 9.5″ across. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
